Stop Hoping for Your Dreams to Come True

Good evening. I’m here to tell you to stop hoping for your dreams to come true. Life is short and there’s no time to waste. Start making your dreams come true. How old are you? Are you 20, 40, 60 years old? Are you somewhere in between? It doesn’t matter. You are never too old or too young to start working on your dreams. Let me ask you another question, how do you spend your time? Are you like most people and work your job and then go home? At what point in your day do you invest in your future self? You are not having a productive day if you do not set time aside to work on yourself. Each of you needs to set time aside to work on your health, planning your future, thinking about finances, etc. Each of us has something that we need to improve on.

I’ll openly admit that there are things I need to work on. I had thought about making a blog for a long time but I did not put the effort forward to create my blog until recently. Hope is not the reason that I currently have my blog. Effort and persistence is the reason I have my blog. I set time aside in my day to work on my writing. I want to be a blogger. This is how I am working on my goals. Set some time aside to think about your future. Make a plan that you can reasonably follow. Stop hoping for your dreams to come true. Now is the time to put the effort in and get results. I am challenging each of you. This is the time to improve yourself. Stop hoping, start doing.

  1. Pithy and forceful. The insight it contains is simple but profound. It takes many people years to realise why they’re feeling dissatisfied: the life they want and the life they’re living are far apart, and are not coming any closer.

As someone said in another context: To get the body you want, the simplest way is: Want the body you already have. For many of us, this won’t work.

Even when we do realise that we’re simply not making time to work on our dreams — and there’s no dearth of distractions, with which we can while away the time and eternally postpone facing this insight — it still takes courage. To forgive ourselves for years lost: for guilt just holds you back. To start today. To do a little bit everyday.

Thank you for a wonderful post.
