Stop Hoping for Your Dreams to Come True

Good evening. I’m here to tell you to stop hoping for your dreams to come true. Life is short and there’s no time to waste. Start making your dreams come true. How old are you? Are you 20, 40, 60 years old? Are you somewhere in between? It doesn’t matter. You are never too old or too young to start working on your dreams. Let me ask you another question, how do you spend your time? Are you like most people and work your job and then go home? At what point in your day do you invest in your future self? You are not having a productive day if you do not set time aside to work on yourself. Each of you needs to set time aside to work on your health, planning your future, thinking about finances, etc. Each of us has something that we need to improve on.

I’ll openly admit that there are things I need to work on. I had thought about making a blog for a long time but I did not put the effort forward to create my blog until recently. Hope is not the reason that I currently have my blog. Effort and persistence is the reason I have my blog. I set time aside in my day to work on my writing. I want to be a blogger. This is how I am working on my goals. Set some time aside to think about your future. Make a plan that you can reasonably follow. Stop hoping for your dreams to come true. Now is the time to put the effort in and get results. I am challenging each of you. This is the time to improve yourself. Stop hoping, start doing.

Toxicity

This is a message from my heart. I have recently let go of a person who was very important to me because of their constant negativity. I was being held back. I lost all of my motivation. Ultimately, I lost who I was. It got to a point where I was unable to smile. I wasn’t myself. I allowed this person to stay in my life for an entire year. Over time, the people around me noticed the change. I’m a very social and happy person but I didn’t want to speak to people anymore. When I finally made the decision to let go of this person, people commented on my constant smiling again. I very quickly became myself once more. This was a huge life lesson that I will happily share.

There will be people in your life who keep you from growing. You may love these people and choose to ignore the fact that they are holding you back. You may even recognize that you’re being held back. I recognized that I was being held back but I allowed the negative person to stay in my life for a year. Why did I and why do you let these people stay? Is it your friends, your family, a partner? Sometimes you have to walk alone to find yourself. Your perspective on life can be influenced by those around you. Their words and thoughts have power over you. Life is about growing. There is a purpose for you in your life but you have to grow. You have to let go of some people and overcome the obstacles in your life.

The two pictures are the same image. One can be perceived as gloomy. The other is a very beautiful image of a nice day. This first image is the influence that the wrong people have on you. The color is drained in the first image. The other if full of life. Do not let someone drain you. Be happy and full of life. You have the power in yourself to be successful without others. It is better to walk alone and to be yourself than to let someone take the color from your life. Be happy. Be free. Be beautifully yourself.

Start Saying I Will

When you were a kid, did you have a crazy dream that you chose not to follow? Most of us do. I personally wanted to be a singer. What holds us back from trying? For me, it was the inability to have a stable income. For others, it is their stage-fright or their fear of judgment. Do not let your fear hold you back from what you love to do. I continue to do performances whenever I get the chance but I don’t pursue singing for monetary purposes. Perhaps you wanted to be a writer, or a doctor, or a performer. Go start a blog, apply to your local college, go to an acting audition. Start chasing your dreams today. Until you put hard work and dedication into your dreams, they will only be dreams.

Your future starts with you. Embrace change. Learn to love the feeling of being uncomfortable. If you spend your entire life in your comfort zone, you will never learn to live. You owe it to yourself to chase your dreams. Each of you amazing people has a purpose. You still have a heartbeat in your chest because your story is still being written. I am challenging everyone to take some time tonight to think about the path you’re walking in life. Are you content? Do you even know what you want to do in life? It doesn’t matter if you’re twenty or if you’re sixty, you can still make the decision to open a new chapter in your life and start fresh. I have always known that my purpose in life was to help others. This week I realized that my words have power and that I can help others by being an uplifting light. This is my purpose and I am here for you!

Get Motivated, Get Results

Who is your role model? How would you describe this person? Motivated? Determined? What about your role model do you admire? Each day that passes is a chance for you to become a role model for someone else. Do not try to be your role model. Identify the qualities that you admire about them, whether it’s their kindness or their financial success and instill those qualities in yourself. Continue to be the person that you are today but allow yourself to grow and possess those qualities. Get up. Go do something today. Hold a door for a stranger, give a compliment to someone you don’t know, go for a walk, work on yourself! Pull yourself away from any and all negativity that you might have in your life and do something about it. Don’t sit around and wait for change to happen. Go make change happen. Life is short and this is your only chance to do it right!

A Growth Mindset

Could you see yourself being the exact same person five years from now? I hope that you answered no! Life is about continuously growing and bettering yourself as a person. Whether you get a job promotion or decide to start your own business, you need to keep growing. I personally embrace change with open arms. I am twenty years old and I have been the assistant store manager for two businesses. I’m in school for nursing. But, each day I see people settling in life. Don’t settle. You owe yourself so much more than that. Follow your dreams and your passions. I believe that every single one of you has a purpose and are meant to do amazing things. Make it happen. Think of one thing you have always wanted to do but haven’t yet. Go make it happen!
